The Faith and the Canonical tradition of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church have remained unshakeable and resolute since the time that Ethiopia accepted Christianity by the preaching of the Ethiopian Eunuch.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church believes and teaches the Apostolic Faith and Canons affirmed at the First Ecumenical Council at Nicaea (325 AD), the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople (381 AD), and the Third Ecumenical Council at Ephesus (431 AD).
Throughout Her history, the Church has continued to teach and to preach the apostolic and patristic doctrine and dogma to all who believe in the Holy Trinity, regardless of specific ethnicity, culture or language.
We, followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church believe that our children should be raised in a proper Christian way, understanding their faith, culture and language.
Furthermore, we pray that our children might have their own place where they may flourish in love and in peace while liberating themselves from the temptations and evils of the secular world.
By the Grace of Almighty GOD, we humbly and lovingly established the new parish of “Keraniyo Medehanealem Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Orange County". Our intention is to build a house of worship, not made with stones and stony hearts, but which is sprinkled with clean, life‐ giving water, and filled with warm hearts turned upward to GOD and reaching out to our families, friends, and new neighbors.
The structure of our parish remains immutably based upon the Holy Scripture, and the hierarchical leadership, which unifies clergy and laity, is firmly rooted in the continuity of apostolic precedent (Acts 6:1 – 6). Furthermore, the parish shall be regulated in accordance with the California non‐ profit laws and the laws of the United States of America.
